Miele Dishwasher Power Cord Overheating — G 7000 Series

Recall Summary

Miele voluntarily recalled certain G 7000 series dishwashers sold in the United States and Canada between 2022 and 2024. The recall affects models in the G 7100, G 7300, G 7500, and G 7900 ranges. The issue involves the power cord junction box connection inside the dishwasher, which can overheat during operation and potentially pose a fire hazard.

Affected Models

The recall covers dishwashers manufactured between January 2022 and December 2023 in the following model series:

  • G 7100 SCi / G 7100 SCU (built-under and semi-integrated models)
  • G 7310 SCi / G 7310 SCU
  • G 7316 SCU AutoDos
  • G 7566 SCVi SF AutoDos (fully integrated)
  • G 7966 SCVi SF AutoDos

The model and serial numbers are printed on the rating plate located on the top inner edge of the dishwasher door. Affected serial numbers fall within a defined production range — contact Miele customer support with your serial number to confirm whether your unit is included.

Hazard

The electrical connection between the power cord and the internal wiring block can develop increased resistance over time, leading to overheating at the junction point. In rare cases, this can cause scorching or melting of the connection block, and poses a potential fire risk if left unaddressed.

Miele received a small number of reports of overheating at the connection point. No injuries have been reported in connection with this issue.

What to Do

If you own an affected dishwasher:

  1. Stop using the dishwasher immediately until the repair has been completed.
  2. Contact Miele customer support at 1-800-999-1360 to schedule a free in-home repair.
  3. A Miele technician will replace the junction box and power cord connection at no cost to you.
  4. The repair typically takes 30–45 minutes.

Do not attempt to repair the connection yourself. The repair must be carried out by a qualified Miele technician to ensure the appliance meets all safety standards.
