Clean the Selector Area
Wipe around the program dial or buttons with a slightly damp cloth. Remove any detergent residue or buildup.
Do not spray liquid directly on the controls.

Turn the Dial Multiple Times
Rotate the selector through all positions several times. This can clean oxidized contacts through mechanical action.
On push-button models, press each button firmly several times.

Power Reset
Turn off at mains for 5 minutes. The selector encoder may need to reinitialize.
After reset, try selecting a specific program and verify the display shows the correct one.

Try a Default Program
Turn the dial to the first (default) position and press Start. If this works, the issue may be limited to certain switch positions.
If only specific positions fail, the switch is partially worn.
